Two portys out today

Ran down to Alex today didn't see anybody out on the way down..saw two portys on a small pond west side of 94 in the Fergus area.

We head up to Grand Forks for Thanksgiving most years. Those guys are ALWAYS the first ones on the ice. Makes me wonder how hot the bite has to be to entice them onto the ice that early. Seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Or maybe they're standing on 3-4" ice...or maybe they know how to check the ice...

I made it out for 2 hours last night. Had an average of 5 inches of ice and 4 inches was the thinnest I found. Heard reports of a few guys out on other areas lakes as well but didn't see anyone.

Was also out yesterday for a bit, could only manage small crappies and walleyes, but felt good to be back on the hard water

It was thick enough that I felt comfortable, 50ft further out onto the lake and the ice likely wouldn't have held me
