dirtymike
First lake I hit is a nicely stocked Rainbow trout lake. 6-10 ft of water always does the trick. I have no idea what the ice thickness is now but I'm hoping it's at least 3 inches. (thats what she said)

Scott O.
Looking at hitting shallow water (5'-15') off points and in bays along weedlines. I'm waiting for at least 5" of ice. Wish I was a bit gutsier to go out on less, but I don't feel very comfortable on less than 5". Looking forward to trying out new Clam Speed Spoons, VMC Rattlin UV spoons, and Northland Buckshot UV spoons to bring 'em in and switch to Clam tungsten jigs to keep 'em there. 20lbSloughShark
I'm really hoping next weekend has some safe ice. My plan is to keep it simple. I have a spot not far off of shore, just out from a private access. I'll bring some people along, and set up tip ups in 5-15 feet of water with medium and large suckers. I may even bring my new skid house and just sit in it on shore while I wait.
amateurfishing
keep it simple, find some drop offs close by weeds, target gills n crappies, test some new equipment, & ENJOY the time & mother nature
ice_medic
Once the ice sets in here my plan is to go out and start exploring the grounds where i was getting bites in the late season of open water. From there move around untill i find the fish and enjoy this wonderful time of the year that could not come fast enough
