Northlander
I plug mine in once a month and see what it reads. Most of the time the batteries are reading full. Most I do is about a hour but it don't hurt to do a over night charge. No need to keep them plugged in all winter.
TR21HP
The only time the batteries aren't plugged in is when the boat is in the water. Had 4 boats and always have done it that way with never any problems.
bobbymalone
I keep my boat in an uninsulated detached garage and I pull the batteries, charge them up, and keep them in my basement until spring. I figure those boat batteries probably like -25F about as much as my car battery likes it.
Capt. H (Ret.)
I agree!!! I tape a monthly charging schedule right to the side of the boat. My biggest concern with leaving the charger or tender plugged in all of the time is a faulty charger that results in a fire.
