gonehunting
I really the looks of the new Otter XT1200 and the idea of being able to keep the shelter warmer. Last year I purchased the ice camo XT900 thermal. I was not a big fan of the ice camo but kind of grew on me. I am seriously contemplating the idea of selling the XT900 and going to the XT1200. Is anyone else in the same shoes? Is it worth the upgrade. Is the the XT1200 that much warmer? My wife just shakes her head. Don't get me started on the new FL-28. JSK76
I Is the the XT1200 that much warmer? . It's the shell of the house that has upgraded not the insulation. If you feel your 900xt is to light duty for how you use it then I would say upgrade. To me the 900 denier seems to be adequate.

Northlander
Im thinking the 900 denier on top of the full thermal will be a tad warmer but if you have last years 900 I wouldnt sell it just to get the 1200 unless you like the new design better. The warmth difference really wont be known until we get a chance to get themn on ice for a bit. I will say the 1200 will be better at blocking wind. JoeMX1825
I have a XT900 Cabin, to me it's not worth the new color, extra few pounds and price premium to get a new XT1200. The XT900 is already almost too warm with a small buddy heater on low...I might be forced to sell my ProXT Cabin and downsize to a Cottage due to getting everything (Grizzly quad and Shelter) to fit on my single place snowmobile trailer, if that's the case, i'll most likely get a new one because I like to be meticulous when putting the frame together and don't trust other peoples work... knowdak
I might be interested in your XT900 if you decide to sell? where are you located? I am in Minot, ND; but have relatives in MN. what accessories did you get? any issues? I have had clams for years but like the idea of that wind skirt that goes across the front of the sled when you are set up. if not selling would like your opinion on comparing the nanook thermal to your proXT900? thanks

gonehunting
Anyone upgrade this year. Would like to hear if the xt1200 was that much warmer than the xt900. I ended up keeping the xt900. Just would like to hear some opinions on new xt1200 owners.
Northlander
I ran the 900 last year and have the 1200 this year. As far as being warmer I would say it is. Would I buy a new one to get the 1200? Probably not. The 900 was toasty. The big difference will be the 1200 has a bit denser, air tight outer skin and will cut wind a bit better. Unless you have some X-mas $ to spend I would wait a few years.
