JOHNBIGDOG
have some old component stereo speakers I use in my garage. On one of them the seal around the cabinet were the back board seals to the front outer portion has failed and causes that rear board to vibrate. (cabinets are none ported) is it ok to use silicone, or is there something better? It appears what came out is plasticy, rubbery? Picture of a portion of the problem area, I removed the seal around the whole speaker as it was all crumbly.
CAMAN
I'd probably use a construction adhesive like Liquid Nails or PL Premium. Run a nice thick bead all the way around and if you have enough material sink a few screws around the edges to hold it in place while it dries.
