Ice Suit Flotation - Striker Brand

Two years ago I purchased a Frabill FXE Snosuit Parka and Bibs. Probably the best investment I've made for ice fishing in several years. I have no complaints and have nothing but good things to say about the suit. However with all of the new flotation suits entering the market I am seriously considering purchasing an ice suit with flotation. I have three little ones and a wife at home who would like to see me come home safe every time I do a little ice fishing. That being said I am looking at the Striker brand suit and was wondering which one is closer to the FXE snowsuit. The Frabill is a bit bulky but I have never once been cold. Is the hardwater or climate version of the Striker brand warmer? Are they a durable/dry suit? Would appreciate anyone's input.

They are comparable with the Climate giving you the option to remove the inner layer for warmer temps.

I have the Hardwater and it is an awesome suit. I would say it is very similar to the Snosuit, as I have worn both. The bulk feels about the same.

I just bought a Climate Suit from Profishingsupply and i love it! Used it on a 2-day musky trip(wed/thu this week)on Battle lake and was on water from 8a-9p and stayed warm entire time. Day 2 it rained from start to finish and the suit took on a little more weight with all the rain it took but i stayed dry the entire time! This might be due to the technology that allows the suit to drain if you fall in and need its floating capabilities....excellent suit! Sizing runs smaller though as i bought a med bib when i normally wear a L...im 6'0 165lbs

Regarding safety and ice fishing:

Life jackets work just as well at keeping you afloat and alive if you fall through the ice as they do if you fall out of a boat.. possibly better as you're not going to drift away in a current. If you have an ice fishing outfit you like, you may want to consider any of the various life jacket options out there. Some inflate only after you're in the water and aren't bulky at all.
