Portable modification questions

After about an hour or so looking through the threads I didn't quite find what I was looking for.

Got the reflectix and led lighting done, just picked up a computer fan and I'm not sure where the best place to put it is.

Should I put it

a)Above the heater blowing back?

or

b)On the opposite side of the shack as the heater blowing down?

I also had another idea to paint the inside of the tub white for visibility, probably should have thought it through a little better but did it to both of my shacks thinking worst case scenario it chips off and I'm back where I started. I haven't seen any others do this in any of the threads but think it will help me be able to find things in the tub much easier. I did use an exterior paint

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this?

Painted my otter tub with fusion paint (for plastic), I cleaned it with alcohol first. It scratches off in places where things rub but not terrible. I guess i'd do it again, you can always touch it up. It really does brighten it up and make things easier to find

I think the idea of a lighter color in the bottom of the tub is a good idea. I don't have a fan in my shelter but wouldn't you want it mounted near the top to push the warm air down? I bought a thermal top insert for my shelter from clam corp. and I've never had any of the dripping everyone talks about.

For the fan I would place it above the heater blowing back. That is where you are going to have your heat that you are wanting to move to the back of the shelter. I have my Big Buddy wired to work off the small vexilar battery I run my lights with and using it makes the shelter a lot warmer and a consistent temperature front to back. Without it on, its a lot colder in the area above the sled. Reflectix is a really good update for non-insulated shacks. I have it in mine right now and it works great.

I run LED lights off a vex battery as well. I should upgrade to the fan, as I have the inconsistent heat problem, as everyone else. Where does everyone buy theirs?

For a fan? You could use newegg, amazon etc.. just look for computer fans.

Everyone has an old computer laying around - just scavenge one. The larger 120mm fans work best, they move the most air with the least noise.

I was at Scheels last night and was following this thread for a while now and did notice that there sleds are now a light grey color! I think it would make it much briter in there when it comes down to it

Thats what gave me the idea to paint it

I'm going to try white Formica laminate and cut it to the size of my sled then rivet it on. For the tent ceiling I'm going to try white upholstery dye paint.
