Rubber Roof &The Dreaded V

This is my second house with the dreaded V front. How many cuts does it take to put rubber on it? I messed up more material, wood to rubber to plywood, on the first one I think I should ask. I thought I could do it with one seam in the center but a 10 x 20 sheet doesn't bend that way, glad I didn't try it. Does it take 1 piece for the 8 x 16 part and a big flap over the front cut at the 8 ft dimension? full-32586-37382-fhouse.jpg

Any reason why it was done with a peak if you were going to put rubber on it? I would have left it flat and used one piece, wrapped it over the front of the fascia and used a termination bar around the bottom edge of the fascia to finish it off. When you do a pitch and angles it reduces the advantage of the continuous membrane. That being said,if you end up seaming it it is probably a horse a piece as to where you seam it and with the V you will have waste either way.

If it were me I would just have the one seam down the front center of the v and keep the seams to a minimum. What makes you say you can't bend it like you want? Having a father who was a commercial roofer I have helped with lots of rubber roofs and as long as you have it glued properly this isn't a problem.

I would also put a 6" piece over all the ridges first so that these areas are doubled up and that will reduce the wear that you will get at those edges.

I think I'm going to try it kind of like what Floyd said. Most of my friends have done it with a separate piece for the v but it still comes out a little weird. I think I may need to seam a couple feet onto it but my plan is to bring the edged to the pint like a Christmas present. This gives me the big bubble above the center of the V. Then slice it so one side goes 3-4 inches over the center and the other laps over that. I will use the right seaming tape for a good waterproof seam. As confusing as this sounds just think what people who've never done this are thinking.
