Jim43
Computer died....using wife's I-Pad. Noooooooo! I don't like change! Is $900 too much for a new machine that will keep up with the games? Mine died back in June while processing HDR vacation photo`s from our Colorado trip. Was a powerhouse Dell XPS 730X with everything. I aboutcried since it was in the middle of working on photos, Nice thing aboutit was 4 of the Hard drives were easily removed and installed into a newcomputer. Decided to go with Ibuypower to custom build, future proof it some. Final tally took me just under $5k. The video card alone was 1k. Nvidia Titan 6gb, 32 GB ram at 1866hz. Oh well, won`t bother with any more details but they do have some nicepre-builts.
mainbutter
A year and a half ago, $900 got me a desktop from Dell that I still have confidence in with games being released today. I don't run everything at full graphics, but I can get the whole shebang out of Skyrim.$900 laptops/notebooks/tablets are going to let you down if you want to play new games. Nick Kuhn
Could you fix the old one? Repairs on old machines are usually dirt cheap if you figure out exactly what part went bad.As far as new ones go yes $900 should let you run current games at full resolution with at least medium quality settings. My system is from 2007 and all I've added is a new video card (nVidia stopped supporting the 8800 GT) and it still runs most games pretty well. DARK30
I guess it's time for a new one anyway. I am gonna put a new hard drive in the old one for offline stuff tho. Getting a close quote today on the new one....And if you like games, you pay more I guess.
