Propane Lantern

I have a ventless heater in my hunting shack and wondering if I can tap off that line and run it to my propane lanterns we leave them in the same spot so running off a 100lb tank works better than a 1lb tanks. I have done this with no regulartor but since the heater has a regulator at the tank will this be a problem?

I believe the lanterns would need to run off an unregulated source. There are t-fittings that attach to the tank, one side would be regulated for the heater and one side would be unregulated for the lanterns.

Yeah, I agree. The lantern would run off the unregulated output from the tank/bottle.

Big tank, small bottle, doesn't matter. The unregulated pressure inside either one is the same at any given temperature as long as there is liquid remaining.

Alright that being said what type of hose is that I can use? I used to sell propane hoses and fittings but no longer live in that area. Wondering an alternative to buying those "premade" hoses and copper. Could you use regular fuel line?

I wouldn't use anything but hose rated for LPG, but that's me. I see it as one of those types of things where it's not worth trying to save a few bucks.

I don't want to steal your thread but I wonder how a propane heater can be ventless. It has to let the bad stuff out someplace.

I would consider wiring in some 14 gauge wire and putting in light fixtures and using DC bulbs. Less heat, less noise, no fumes. A deep cycle battery would last as long as you're going to bet here if all you have are the lights.

Vent-free heaters are safe to use without venting. You may already have other vent-free gas appliances in your home now, such as a gas stove, oven, or dryer. They don’t need to be vented because LP gas (propane) and Natural Gas are very clean-burning. I think the ventless ones also have oxygen sensors so if the oxygen percent gets below some level, still plenty safe for life support, the heater shuts off. Also, few buildings are sealed perfectly so there is air exchange that way too.
