Rouney725110
So last winter I bought an Eskimo Quick-Flip 300. It works great but I don't like all the condensation that I get. I was thinking that this winter I would sew in some sort of insulating fabric or blanket or something at least on the ceiling to help with the condensation. I was also thinking I would try to find something that I could spray on the walls to help seal the joints in the fabric where it was sewn together to offer and extra layer of protection from the wind. Maybe I will just put the thermal blanket on the walls too.. I'm not real sure what would work best so I'm looking for ideas. So if you have any thoughts on material, application or any other thoughts I should consider, please post them below! I'm open to just about anything! Thanks!! -Ryan
timjones
Try this link. Has other links to how people have insulated theirs mainly using Reflectix which you can find at most any home improvement store. ClownColor
I'd save the time a just buy a thermo if it means that much to you. It'll pack better and function better as it was made that way. One last thing you can try, place flooring down (rubber backed carpet works great) to help evaporation which leads to "drips."
ozzie
refletrix is really easy to install and all you really need to do is the ceiling to eliminate dripping on your head. Oh and it packs just fine without doing anything special or extra. It was one of the better additions I made on my ice house as the extra shine it provides is nice at night. EBass
I did the reflectix trick. Back and top. It's made a huge difference
TruthWalleyes
I'd save the time a just buy a thermo You'll be happier in the end with an insulated house. You've got time to budget from now until ice too if the wallet isn't ready. My new insulated house arrived 2-3wks ago. I should really set that up and make sure i don't have to return it...It is a clam product and the odds of it being right aren't high in my eyes. gonehunting
I also used the reflectix in my Otter Lodge. I did the top and back of the house. I used duct tape to re-enforce the holes/slits where I pulled the Velcro through. I also used duct tape to hold the pieces together. It folded down very nicely. No more condensation dripping on my head. I bought a roll from Menards. Can't remember what it costs but below $30 for sure. Good luck
