St Croix colors?

Recommended Posts

Looking thru their literature, it looks like I can get different colors for their rod blanks (page 17 of 18 in the STC_Rod_Builder_2013.pdf). Anyone know if that's true? Anyone do that? Basically I'd like to use a SCIV rod, but the metallic blue doesn't work for me all the time. I'd like black or carbon. What would you do to change the nomenclature 4S66MLF2-Letter I suppose?

The 2S or 3S lines of blanks are shades of black as you supposed. They are of material of lesser modulus than the 4S line, however. The heading for each blank selection category (2S,3S,4S, etc.) lists the color which can be viewed towards the back of the PDF as you have seen.

I have painted blanks in the past. Works OK. But the finish is not as tough as factory. Never had it crack.

have heard of people bring blanks to auto body shops for car quality paint as it is much tougher than store paint.
