Deer stand climping sticks

Recommended Posts

Well, after looking online at all the different styles of climbing sticks and not finding any that I liked or wanted to drop a lot of money on, I decided to build my own. It's made up of 4 - 4' sections with an 8" coupler in between each one. It is a little heavy but goes on the tree very nice, and quick.

What do you guys think?full-23988-35895-img_20130815_183204.jpg

Musky hunter. Hey, I did that before and the screws are tight at first but a little stress and weight on them will eventually hone the hole out and the will fall out and or be loose. Two options I did was cut off the screw part and welded on a 5/16(if I remember correctly)stove style bolt with the nut. Or after I welded them I decided that just welding the foot peg to the tube was alot easier.I did this on a makeshift one well before they started to make the climbing sticks.

Yeah I couldn't agrre mor with what all three say. A fall would be very bad with those pegs. An cojld result with being self gutted on the way down. Never liked pegs. Weld them to the tube so the can't stress under weight an put a reinforcement weld in the corner wher u step.
