Downriggers

harvey lee

Question

I have a buddy who is looking for a few downriggers for salmon fishing and LOW's.

Can a person buy like rebuilt warrantied ones froma mfger?

Does Minn Kota own Cannon and if so, can buy buy them direct from them? He was thinking a few of warrantied rebuilt ones to maybe save a few bucks.

Thanks for any help.

Best bet is to buy from a private party. Truthfully for LOW I would save the $ and just get some suffix leadcore. It dives deeper and will be plenty to get you on fish on LOW. Heck its even working for lakers and salmon on Lake Superior. I sold my downriggers about 5 years agao and have use leadcore since and now that the Suffix has come around thats all I use along with snap weights on the other lines to get down where I want to be.

What size boat is he putting them on? I have some home made ones that work very well with weights and some releases that I have not used since I sold the boat I had them on.
