Matt Johnson
Speed Spoon Description: Big perch with foreheads love this thing. Or hate it. Hard to tell. It’s a jigging spoon with a chain holding a detailed matching trailer, that darts and pulses to its own beat as you work the spoon. Makes the right noise, looks wounded and vulnerable, and gets up and down super fast. Jumbo perch don’t tend to stay in one place. You gotta pluck ‘em out of the school while they’re under you. Oh, and did we mention it slays crappies and walleyes, too? Watch the Speed Spoon VIDEO - Enjoy!
Jared_P
Kind of reminds me of the Hali jigs with the chains...JP

pushbutton
Does not look like there is a ball or chamber in it. Should be a good rig regardless; sometimes the rattles will even scare away the fish. The best attribute of the chains is the free flow of the bait when worked. This type of setup is also excellent to bang and root around on sandy or muck bottoms. Those little silt clouds can often attract interest, and once on the bottom a slight twitch will work that chain in a worm/bug like fashion giving the appearance of baitfish feeding on them. pushbutton
Sure they are. Pretty much a sukkulah sp? But who really cares.... if they work. Varmits, flyers, buckshots are all pretty much the same thing. Actually, Hali must have had a big time oops in production a few years back and had multiple chains break when using them. Have been a little leary of using them since; no problems with last years though. Will be nice to have another choice as well as more accessibility. Would even encourage clam to sell the chains alone as well. Tough to find the bigger hook ones around here. Competition is usually never a bad thing for the end consumer...... Feathers Rainin
That is the problem with tackle. You can patent it and another company will change it ever so slightly to get around it. I had a conversation with the owner of JR tackle about this very subject. One example is his stop sign jigging spoon. They were very effective and there was nothing similar on the market at the time they came out. There are many companies who made a knock off version (which aren't nearly as effective IMO). If you don't have a good eye you can't really tell the difference between the original and all the copycats.
