I have never targeted smallmouth specifically. I usually chase walleyes. What are a few go-to's that you guys/gals use that have produced for you in the past? I am heading to Mille Lacs this weekend and looking for any help. I will have 2 other guys with me that have limited fishing experience so keep-it-simple-stupid would be the best.

Thanks for any help that you can offer.

I would say just a powergrub or power tube. Or maybe one of the easiest things you can do is just float a leech under slip bobber over the rocks. I typically don't use live baits but when I have had some very good days on the big pond with a leech and bobber.
