Shammy
My electric tilt is going out on my 1996 Mariner. I can tap it with a hammer and it still works but is is slowing way down and is no doubt on its way out. How hard is it to find one to order and fix myself????? I talked with a local motor guy and he said around $300 total for him to complete this job. Seems a bit high but then again that is why Im typing this thread. Is this something I can find and order and fix on my own. (just don't know where to start) Or do I just let this guy do it.Thanks!
ozzie
I have a 98 50 hp tiller Mariner and I started having a problem where my tilt wouldn't work good and thought the whole system was going bad but it was actually something like a contact relay that goes bad...not sure if contact relay is the correct verbage but it was a simple fix for my mechanic. MuskieJunkie
Search my old posts, I had the same deal on my mercury years ago and surface tension and others helped me out. I had water in my pump motor. Cleaned it out myself and only had to replace a couple electrical components.
boatfixer
You will definitely want to find someone who can rebuild it. Some of those merc trim motors/pump assys are close to a grand now!!!
