erikwells
I have never done this myself. I have been shooting and have found my pin I have set for 10 yards is really close at 20 yards as well. Is that pretty common or am I doing something wrong? I'm shooting pretty well at 20 so I can't be a total dummy. Any thoughts or advice for me that you more experienced archers are willing to share would be appreciated. Thanks, Erik
paceman
With todays fast, flat shooting bows. I think it is pretty common for a single pin to be pretty much on from 10-30 yards, especially if properly tuned. My first pin is set for 20 yards and I go out from there. I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Sounds to me like you are shooting well and doing everything right!
mrklean
yea i would stay it depends on your bow but even my wifes bow set at 50 pounds from 0-20 there is very little change at all. So if you start at 20 you should be fine.
erikwells
I just got the new Bear Legion this year set to 55 right now. Shot bow over 20 years ago so not too much that I can compare bow brands or models but I like it so far. It has taken some adjustment but I sure like shooting a release now (20 years ago you couldn't use a release in the field). Not sure I'll have the need or skill to go out past 30 yards. Scouted my deer land on Saturday and found a lot of sign and spotted 2 nice does. The mosquitos were crazy, thank god for thermacells. Thanks for the info. MUSKY18
Exactly what was said above it what they told me last year. Had the same question. I shoot a 3 pin site and have the pins set at 20,30 and 40 yards. Anything under 20yds, I just hold the 20 pin on it and it hits where you want it to.
