Stolen Polaris Ranger

Boggie

Recommended Posts

08 Polaris Ranger Razor 800, Red with black rag top. Nice shape. Had a new sprayer mounted on the back.

The Reg# 783WJ expires Dec. 31, 2014.

Taken sometime the first week of June. Shed was broken into. Loaded on a trailer. This was located in Stevens county MN. 5 miles south of Chokio, MN. The thief came from the north and left heading north.

I will give a $500 reward. My cell number is 320-455-7363

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I only had liability insurance as I thought my umbrella farm insurance would cover a theft. Wrong,,,any licensed vehicle has to have its own insurance. The farm buildings sit right out in the open along two blacktop roads. I believe it is someone local that watches my site and knew that I keep it in the shed. I had been using it to spray just a day or so before.

Hoping someone sees or hears something they will turn in. I doubt it will be recovered, but I sure would like to catch them.

Definitely sounds like you said. They knew it was in the shed. So they must have either been from nearby or just happened to drive by in the last day or so and saw you. Maybe someone who was in the area for the weekend and decided to bring it home with them and hide it where they live. Either way what a bummer. Good luck and hopefully someone here can help find it.

This really sucks to hear. Lesson be learned from situations like this.

Might be a good time for the rest of us to confirm what's covered under our insurance policies. I've been hearing of more cases like this where people thought their vehicles were covered under a home owners policy or farm policy only to find out after it's too late it's not.

It does not only apply to vehicles, my tools, retired mechanic so imagine the size and quantity of high quality equipment, is cabled down to anchors in my garage. With that said, my insurance company says nope not covered. so i have a rider just to cover that. But it is expensive but what if's are too. Guess i just keep biting my bullet until i cant take the payments anylonger.

You can go broke buying insurance. As they say...everything is covered unless you file a claim. Then, it wasn't covered or it was stolen on the wrong day or you forgot to tell us you wanted it covered for theft. Did you remove the keys??? No sir,,I had it in a locked shed, thought that would be good enough, Nope. Can you tell me what is covered??? Anything that is safe and well protected. You mean anything that I can get under my bed and is protected with my 357 under my pillow. That would be best,,,if you announce that you have a pistol and that you intend to us it if they decide to stick around. God I love the USA laws.

    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
    • Sketti...  not out of a jar either!
    • Lol yeah I watched that
