I havn't been to an elite level tournament since they were on Minnetonka in the 90's. Kinda dating myself I guess wink

Without going on the water, Is there much to do while the pros are fishing or is it better to just wait til weigh-in time?

There is a few things you can do before the weigh in such as take a ride in a Nitro or Skeeter. There are a few other booths you can visit and look at the newest products out. The real show is the weigh in.

Last year was a great time, i'm looking forward to this weekend.

Heading down there on Saturday, my boy follows the pro series and knows all the guys names so figured it would be a good time for him. Can a guy watch them come off the water? Would be interesting to see the boats and tow rigs. Any vendors there also?

CASTnBLAST,

Yes, you can stand right next to the landing and see all of the boats. You can also listen to the anglers talk to the media (before and after) and some anglers will even take pictures with the kids. After the weigh in the anglers will walk out of the back of the stage, most will stop and take pictures and sign autographs. Your son will love it!

Last year there wasn't a lot of vendors but you can talk him for a ride in a Nitro Z9. smile Ask for Jay.

I agree with a number of pros who have said that they shouldn't even be fishing a state that has a no cull rule. If you looked at the area he was fishing the state boundary snakes all over the place and even with gps you could be off a few feet and be eligible to be disqualified. You can actually have a five fish limit, caught in Wisconsin and Minnesota, cross back to Wisconsin ,release the fish and go back to Minnesota and fish. How ridiculous is that? Many of the pros are staying out of Minnesota waters for that very reason.

I am afraid that was the last elite series event on the area for many years.

Perhaps if Minnesota changes their rule, they would come back.

After last years disappointment with the WIDNR and the sturgeon bay closer, this seems like another slap in the face of trip Weldon
