Robin nest keeping behavior

We had a robin nest on our deck right outside the door. I tried getting a feeding picture through the glass but they were camera shy. I finally put the camera on top of a step ladder on the far end of the deck and fired it remotely.

The parent would feed and remove the feces each visit. Is that robin S.O.P. or was this unusual? I had house finches in a tree in front of the house and they did not remove it. It piled up around the perimeter.
