fishnut2
Heard from some folks up in Vermilion Bay that Gordon Lake is a decent trout lake. Does anyone have any information on the lake? How is the access? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
srj
It's been a good while since I was there, but if it hasn't changed, here goes........Gordon has a very good trout population but not very big fish. The lake isn't very big either. It is VERY clear and stays cool way into summer. Most any jig in 1/4 to 3/8 with a plastic bait or frozen or salted minnow works. I've fished it three times and never seen another boat out. The access was a gravel, unimproved ramp but fine for most boats. We fished the trout like walleyes, drifting or backtrolling points in 25 - 40 feet. Lots of fun.A bit to the east near Dryden, Thunder Lake has much bigger trout as does Eagle.Good luck.
