Peterleech69
I got a 98 Honda 90 4 stroke. I took it out and when its running there is no water coming out of the little [PoorWordUsage] hole on the back of the motor. I know every outboard I've seen has that little stream of water shooting out the back? Is it safe to drive? Or does.something need to be replaced? Rick G
No water coming out, I would not run it. might be a cloged hole, but I would bet that it need a new water pump/impeller kit put in.

Down Deep
You may want to throw in an impeller kit anyway. Your motor is 15 years old and impellers deterioratewith age. This is part of a good preventative maintenance program for your motor.
Ufatz
Amen. Regular change of impellor has saved many a motor. Those Honda's are GREAT motors, nearly bullet-proof and dependable as the sunrise. But even THEY need a little TLC. Had my first one in 1975.

Peterleech69
I pulled off the plastic piece that the hose hooks up to. I knew it was.clogged right away. I stuck a small Allen wrench in and sand was in there. Took it out today. Ran top. And water was streaming like it should
