TruthWalleyes
I'm new to the Mississippi, fish the St. Croix frequently in the fall though. I'm looking for overnight public access to the Miss. I'm in the Catfish forum because you are the guys that stay out past the DNR's bedtime. I have every intention to learn the Miss this summer and i'll be doing so 1 weekend at a time. Here's a list of ramps from P2 to P7. If you know which of these ramps you can leave a trailer at overnight/weekend please respond. Often times i'll show up at a landing at 10pm (Or later) at night to catch the non-busy time. I understand that many of these landings will be very busy during normal daytime hours.1) North Lake, Take County 18 Blvd east out of Etter for 1.4 miles to 190th St Way. motownmasher
i've used the landings on the E end of winona but havn't noticed hours on any signs posted. that being said it is a questionable area for leaving a rig all night. there is a landing just over the winona/WI bridge on the west side. nice little spot, good fishing nearby. i havn't been by bass camp for a few years, but used to be a decent landing as well as a campground. TruthWalleyes
Well, here's a list of ramps someone put together for Wisc./Minn.Could still use a little assisstance from those that know of certain ramps with night closure signs though. Each landing is designated with the mile marker at which is located along with a "L" or "R". The "L" designates that it is on the left side of the river if you are traveling downstream (or on the Wisconsin side). The "R" designates the landing is on the right side going down stream (the Minnesota side).POOL#3814.3R Mississippi river-Hastings public access, MN DNR and the city of Hastings (concrete slab TruthWalleyes
I'll have to use the ol' Trial and Error method of finding overnight ramps. I didn't expect too much help, landings are kept pretty secret these days on the busy rivers. Tis Alright.
EW6
I've had no trouble with a trailer staying overnight at the public landings in Redwing, Lake City, and Wabasha for weekends at a time. In general I think you will find you'll have much less trouble on the Mississippi with leaving a trailer overnight than you do on the Croix. I don't know why they throw such a fit about it up there, but I've never had any issues leaving a trailer overnight on pool 4 or 5 even if there were signs against it.
