How to bow mount a depth finder

Stickjiggler

Question

Hello all. A buddy and I are going to try to mount a depth finder on the bow of his 2001 lund 1775 tournament series. It will be replacing the one in his trolling motor. How hard is it to fish wires and transducer cable from front to back? Any tips or links to videos would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! Andy

You want to run the finder from a transducer in the back of the boat, with the finder in the bow?

If it is like my 98 pro vee 1775, with console, you can run the wires through the compartment on the starboard (driver's) side and then under the gunwale behind the carpet on the side of the hull, to the bow.

If it isn't like my 98, then disregard this message.

My guess is that he will have a power supply stubbed in from the factory right at the front and should be able to tap into those. I am confused by your other comment about "replacing one in his trolling motor". Is there depth finder already up there or are you referring to a transducer that is located there?

Im not completely familiar with that boat, but I think it has wide "gunnel" sides. If it does just run the transducer cable along the underside of it. There are probably already other wires there that is powering a recepticle in the front for the lights and trolling motor. Just zip tie the new cable to that.
