Jameson
Will this late spring result in clearer water for us next winter?
merkman
Not sure how it would affect water clarity..
PGF
I have heard that the water clarity is mainly affected by how much it rains in the fall prior to ice. Lots of rain = lots of runoff = dirty water. Not sure if that's true but it makes sense to me
LPCrowRiverFisherman
No matter how late the ice goes out, the wind and rain before first ice are what make the water conditions what they are.
Jameson
Was thinking the late spring would result in a shorter growing season for the crud (algae, plankton, idk,) that grows in the water that would cloud it.
Gordie
Depends on if the drought hits us again the shallower water will let the algae bloom faster and be more concentrated hence dirtier water. The winds before ice up will also get the waters unsettled and make things a mess. One thing that's for sure is the time between ice out and first ice is still to far away
