late spring = clearer water?

I have heard that the water clarity is mainly affected by how much it rains in the fall prior to ice. Lots of rain = lots of runoff = dirty water. Not sure if that's true but it makes sense to me

Depends on if the drought hits us again the shallower water will let the algae bloom faster and be more concentrated hence dirtier water.

The winds before ice up will also get the waters unsettled and make things a mess.

One thing that's for sure is the time between ice out and first ice is still to far away grin
