White Faced Ibis in ND???

On my way home to Manvel, ND I saw this bird in the ditch. When I looked it up on the internet I believed it was a white faced ibis. It didn't appear to be a ND bird so I am not sure that is what kind of bird it is but the pictures I took and the ones online look alike. Can anyone help me out?

I have only seen them when they are down south for the winter, but yes, I think you are correct, White-faced Ibis.

Beautiful bird. You captured some nice color on the subject too.

White faced Ibis has nesting records in North and South Dakota. Though

they have never been numerous in either state in regards to breeding records.

Just do a google search for "breeding white faced ibis in the great plains", and

you can probably come up with a few nicely written research articles.

At first I thought it was a duck or something until I passed it. I backed up and it just stood there carrying on like I wasn't even there. Then when I left my house about 15 minutes later he was still there. He is a lot smaller than the picture makes it look. He was smaller than a football.

We have loads of them here in South ID. They nest in the high desert wet bottoms.
