JONOV
I have some instant Mashed Potatoes that I am trying to clean out of the pantry...Has anyone ever used them as breading for pan frying?
DonBo
Yep, I think it's a pretty popular choice.
outdoors247
Yes you can. In fact I used it often until I switched to a new mix. I enjoy experimenting with ingredients. My new favorite for fish when deep frying is: 1/2 cup Shorelunch, 1/2 cup Corn Flake Crumbs, and 1/2 a cup of Panko Breading. I used to use Potato Buds in place of Panko in the above recipe but prefer the Panko now.
Cicada
Makes an awesome crusty fish fillet. I mix in some McCormick's Perfect Pinch salt free Garlic and Herb seasoning.
Fish Head
I haven't tried the potato flakes but I might have to give them a try this year. +1 on the panko. Panko and shore lunch is hard to beat.
