I usally would go there for openor with friends from cities. They didn't go this year. Dry as a popcorn fart they said. Plus I think they had a draw down there. Go to waterfowlerdotcom and follow Minnesota reports and state discussions.

Hunted there last Saturday and the Sunday before. We put in at Half Moon on Sunday and Pritchards on Saturday, water is low but still navigable. The only problem is the number and quality of other hunters, both days we had people set up within 150 yards of us. Saturday we could see 16 other hunters within 1/4 mile of us. Ducks moved out before shooting time and then the coots moved in. We saw a few birds drop but most of the birds we saw shot at were pretty darn high. Probably won't hunt there again until just before freeze up.

THanks for the input guys.I normally make two or three trips there a year but I've been going else where this year. Most of the time during the week and there aren't too many people to cause problems. The low water is probably congregating more people this year.Think I'll wait to head down until it gets closer to the end and only the diehards are left.

THanks again
