DNR seeks input on antler point restrictions

With APR you could be shooting at least 2.5 year old 8 pt. More opportunity for more venison per deer. When the age class of 1.5 year olds live you wouldn't worry about passing them cause there would be better opportunity at more mature deer. Just another angle to look at it from. I'm just gonna agree to disagree. We've all beat this to death several times.

Yep, and agreed.

We used to shoot everything, and I would never get much more than spikes/forks on the camera. And we used to say "man it would be nice to get a nice buck", guess what they weren't around. We changed our ways and so did the neighbors (kids/seniors get a pass) and now we shoot a nice buck or two every year. Most sections probably have less than one mature buck per section, in our area we now always have 4-6, as I stated now we get one or two of these. Doesn't make killing a buck a chip shot, hardly the case, but you can't shoot what doesn't exist and that's reality for much of our state.
