2007 Impala Ltz Which Brake Pads??

Recommended Posts

I'm due to replace the pads on my 2007 Impala. I'd like to put OE replacements on and was looking up online different options.

I'd be putting ceramic on, and it looks like there is two versions that they sell labeled:

AC Delco Advantage Ceramic set # 14D1159CH that is a little less expensive

AC Delco OE Service Ceramic Set #171-0952 that are twice as much as the above mentioned.

I only want to do this once. Can anyone explain to me the difference in the pads? It doesn't offer much explanation. Open to other product suggestions as well. My rotors are fine and are stock.

The difference is often in how much ceramic is in the pads. The OE pads are usually very good, but I've also had great luck with Wagner Thermo Quiet pads at a much better price.

When you say "My rotors are fine and are stock" does this mean they have been measured for adequate thickness, are not warped and you are not planning to resurface them?

Only the OES are certain to perform like your current pads. When I use aftermarket it's Akebono, Centric, Bendix CT3's. I've observed that the Bendix have slowly been turning Chinese(like Wagner), except for the severe duty metallics.

You rarely go wrong spending as much as possible on brake parts.

I had the rotors resurfaced recently, they had a little warp in them and they measured out fine. I've had good luck at my local Napa and will look into the Adaptive ones recommended above. I'll see what suggest, I'd rather spend a little more than have to do them again before I get rid of the car.
