gonehunting
Maybe this topic has already come up, but found out the hard way that Frabill was purchased by Plano. I purchased a Frabill Snosuit jacket and bibs last year. It was a pretty big investment when spending that much money. In short, the bottom of the zipper is pulling away from the material on the jacket. So I decided to call Frabill Customer Service. To my surprise they actually called me back in 10 min. I explained my problem to them and the answer to my question was - we don't have that size in stock, we're all out of here in March, and Plano won't have any in until next fall. So I've got a $300 jacket with a bad zipper. They said I could send it in but Plano would have to resolve the issue. My guess is most of us know where that is going. I love the jacket and bibs but wish there was some way it could be resolved. How about contacting a retailer with one in stock, crediting them for a jacket, and have it shipped to me. I don't want to get sarcastic but basically they are saying, sorry it is there problem now. You have to assume Plano will change the color by next fall and it won't match anyway. Guess I'll be off to buy a new zipper and have it sewn in.
mrpike1973
i feel your pain i was going to buy a frabill house this year. but the one i had needed a new tent. so i called they said they didnt have one and wouldnt be able to get one. this was only one year old. when i asked about a current model they had. would i be able to get replacement parts they said they were sold and didnt know. so why would i as a consumer want something i may not be able to warranty? bottom line its a dog eat dog world but even in the fishing industry i hate to buy anything because i never know if i can get it fixed. i hate to think of a portable fish house at 400 plus dollers as a throw away item in 2-3 years. ill get off my box now but gonehunting i understand your pain
gonehunting
"Frabill and Plano are a perfect fit - like peanut butter and jelly," said Tom Hurt , Plano president and CEO. "We serve the same customers and our products sit next to each other on the store shelf. More importantly, our companies share common core values, which include world-class customer service and an uncompromising dedication to product quality. Together, we will continue to drive excitement and excellence into our categories by introducing innovative products for many years to come.Guess I'll have to take it up with Plano. It wouldn't bother me as much if it was a $40 pair of gloves, but a $330 jacket!
Sea Hage
Why not just bite the bullet and get the zipper fixed ? most drycleaners offer repairs to such things
gonehunting
That's not the point. It is less than a year old and shouldn't cost me anything. As I said, I really like the suit but a zipper shouldn't be going out after a half dozen times out. If that's what it comes to I won't have a choice. I too just need to get off my soapbox. Just needed to vent I guess.
buzbunni
Hadn't heard about the Frabill purchase. Good for the Marble family, but I'm kinda bummed about the sale. I generally like Frabill products, and it was nice to have them next door in Wisconsin.I will hope for the best in terms of better products/customer service/etc., but I'm not holding my breath.Good luck with the zipper. I just purchased a Frabill Insulated Headquarters Hub shelter this yr. Like it. Sure hope it holds up.

JSK76
Wouldn't it be awesome if there was no sales tax on items 100% made in the U.S with all U.S parts.
Bobcat45
I guess I would call Plano customer service and talk to them. It might be along shot but you never know. I had a tackle box lid break once and I emailed them to see if I could buy just that peice. They just sent me a new lid free of charge and not even shipping. Believe me it was not warrentied any more. It sucks that your in the middle of there transition. Good luck though Bobcat
icefisker
Ive had the same great experience with Plano. I have broken tackle box parts before and they have shipped the broken piece free of charge. If i had a broken zipper i would take it locally and have it fixed.
