Gooseview destroyer vs eliminator

Recommended Posts

Has anybody used the Destroyer layout blind?
Add said it was only 30" wide so I was worried about it being a little tight in the shoulders. Have also looked at the finisher and eliminator, after trying those two in the store it is kind of a toss-up between them. Then I heard about the Destroyer but have not found anywhere to try it out.

Here is a picture of the Gooseview Destroyer:

Note there is a compartement for your dog to lay in and stay hidden as well. No need for your dog to crawl over you to get in or out.

Here are some things you can say about the Destroyer that you CANNOT say about the finisher or eliminator:

* Sled for keeping you dry + hauls decoys.

* Comfortable backrest & seat cushion.

* Smooth rounded natural shape.

* Easy-in / Easy-out design.

* Waterproof poly-sled floor (doubles as gear & decoy hauler).

* Face concealing shields.

* Gear storage pockets in backrest & sides of blind.

* Made in the U.S.A.

Check out the Final Approach Top Gun model also. Try to see them all in person is my advice, and make sure you lay down in them and close the doors too!

Thanks for the posts. I couldn't find anywhere to try the Destroyer but I found a good deal on one through K***** in Michigan.
They were closing them out at 130.00, cheapest I found elswhere was 300.00 so I have one on the way.

Has anyone got one of these yet? I couldn't beleive it so I called and yes they are $129! Thinking about ordering 2 of them but haven't ever heard of this company before...

I just called and talked to Gooseview. They sold their stock of old models to Knutsons. The guy from Gooseview is sending me all the specs on it. Email me if you want them and I'll forward them to you.

I have one on the way. It should be here on Thursday. I will let you know how I like it when it comes in. The total was $150 after shipping. Cabellas is now making one like the final approach blinds for $168. They had alot of different styles there.

For the money it is pretty good. I thought it was a little lower profile than it is. There is also no face shield. I think I am going to let my son have it and I will get a finisher or eliminator blind for myself. I could not get the bigger model from Knudtsens because they were not able to ship. Also for it to lay flat for transport or storage you need to unhook 2 bungees and 4 pins. Not a huge deal but some what of a pain. Most blinds are like that though.

I'll just throw this out there. Kolpin makes a blind called the Final Approach. I have 2 I got at galyans for $154 on sale. They are heavier material than any other I've looked at, and seem to be constructed well. This past wknd they were waaayyy to warm, but so were my clothes. I haven't used them in the cold, but they'll be warm. A buddy & I were totally happy with them this wknd, and I could even fit the lab in the little pouch between my feet. All my guncases are kolpin, and I've never had a problem with them. The way these are constructed, I can't see having any problem with them either.

Takin it easy! & if it’s easy, I’ll take it twice!

Labby,
I sent it back to Knutsons. Had to pay 23 for shipping. When I first called them I asked if they were a discontinued or last years model and was told they were not. The low price was simply because they were not handling the line any longer. Guess that person was wrong. The new model looks nice but is expensive. I decided to just use a utility sled that is 4" high and throw some camo netting over me and lay next to a decoy.
That will give the lowest profile in wheat stubble.
