Line spin with a fly reel

I have an okuma slv and after 2 years of using it, I finally used it on clear enough water where I could sight fish and I noticed my jig spinning... Could this be do to my line? Maybe it has to much memory? I am using 3 lb micro ice.

My 2 cents worth. When you jig up and down your jig will spin and twist the line. When you stop jigging it tends to want to unspin. A small swivel about 18" above the jig will help some. Stan C.

I like 2# line to help with that also.

If you are using a plastic. You may have your plastic on wrong, to where it counter balances the jig head. This will cause it to spin in circles. I have notice this to with two or more wax worms on the hook. I don't run swivels on my panfish rigs. Copolymer line with a flourcarbon coating in #3 .006 will help also.

Don't forget panfish tend to do circles when bringing them up.

lure induced spin or line coil induced. Part of the reason why I typically like to tie on a little swivel to help out with that.
