Crappyfisherman
I got the 42" with a 8" power point on it. Don't like the power point. Is there any way to grind it off with out werckingthe cutting head?
bee
It can be done but you have to be careful not to hit the cutting blades. A steady hand with a good cut off tool should get it done. Better yet Buy one and save that on as a spare.
blackdog1101
Just out of curiosity, what is it you do not like about the power point?
Crappyfisherman
I have a non power point that cuts much quicker and less ice build up.Seems like you have to spray it with Pam to keep it from freezing. My non power point is 3 years old and it just cuts better, might have to send it to Frank for major surgery. Surface Tension
It can be done but one slip and your blade is toast. Really you shouldn't notice any difference between the two.
Northlander
You need too have them sharpened then. As far as ice build up I have never had a issue unless I cut a hole then lay it in the snow. The power point is better when sharp. Holds the spot better. Send them to Frank and you will love that center point when he is done.
aczr2k
Never had a problem with icing, after I drill my holes I hold it up and free spin it to fling off the water, sometimes I will also drill a couple inch deep hole then hold it up and run it to let the ice fling off.
