Big Buddy heater problem

Big Buddy heater runs fine when running on 1 pound propane canisters, but when I hook up to the 5 lb tank with the Mr. Heater hose and filter, it starves out on high and wont stay lit. This has never happened before, do the Mr. Heater filters need to be replaced every few years? It seems to only go out when I turn the heater to high setting. Anybody else had this problem?

Yes you should replace the filter every couple years. Take the filter off and run it on high to see if that corrects the problem. If it does, then grab a new filter.

Had the same problem with me 20lb tank... I have much more luck and more heat with the 1 pound tanks...I'd stick with those if I were you, pluys its a lot lighter to haul around

I've had a few friends that have had them and had that problem the first year they used them.

On that note, I use a sunflower with a five foot hose to a 20lb. That thing starts blowing like a trumpet every so often, and I can't figure out why it does that either. The only way i've found to stop it, is to shut it off, wait thirty seconds, and reignite. But that only fixes it for 5-10 minutes.
