Lightweight Packable Bench for Frabill Recon

Recommended Posts

I have a Frabill Recon that I am using more and more as my Otter Cabin collects dust, but I have never liked the seating. It doesn't have the Frabill bench that comes with the DLX, so I built one. I used to usee a 3-legged folding chair, but wanted a small bench and to use a padded folding stadium seat. I used scrap 1/2" plywood and 2x2, and a few hinges, and I did not have to modify the sled in any way. It simply sits in place, is tall enough that a bucket still sits under it, folds flat, and weighs next to nothing. Here it is:

Nice, I have a Recon too and it's a great little shelter.

I took the seat out of mine and just use a bucket with a swivel lid. That way I can sit far back and keep my feet off the ice and have more room for fishing smile
