jparrucci
Finally bought a ruger 10-22 yesterday. Now it is time to start tinkering. I want to buy a stock with a pistol grip, and also add a scope. When adding a scope, I want the ability to still use iron sights as well. I have no idea what I need with all the different rail types. I would like the option to add a red dot or laser as well. Has anyone done a build like this, and what do you guys recommend?
jparrucci
Despite no replies here, I went ahead and did some work on the new gun. Bought a folding stock with a pistol grip at FF, along with an extended magazine. I also bought a see-through scope mount/rings and bought a cheap scope as well. Flashlight/laser combo will be going on today.
fishuhalik
Looks sharp, I like it! I miss my old 10/22. Looks like you got the ruger 25rd mag, good choice. The Butler Creek plastic ones are garbage!!! Never seen a rail on a 10/22 but definitely like the idea
Huntin&Fishin
how much was that stock? Is it quality? it looks very nice!
PurpleFloyd
I pretty much did that same thing with mine about 20 years ago and it is a fun little gun to play around with. The next thing you know things like trigger jobs, thicker barrels etc get real tempting.
jparrucci
Thanks. I actually got the stock at FF. It seems pretty solid. Laser and flashlight will get mounted on the bottom of the picatinny forearm today. The stock was only 80. 6 position folding stock. Now I need to find somewhere in the north metro to get it sighted in.
Huntin&Fishin
Nice looking gun! I read some reviews a few years back on this stock, and they said there was some minor play with butt, Does yours have that? or they may have fixed that Very nice looking! also were did you buy the red dot sight and how much was that if you dont mind me asking? Thanks
jparrucci
The stock seems to be mounted to the barrel/receiver just fine. No play at all. I don't know him much I trust the adjustable stock itself, I would bet that a piece will break eventually and it will end up as a fixed position or just slide back and forth freely. The light and laser combo was purchases for about 70 on Cheaper than Dirt.
