Wall mount Mr Buddy

Hi all.

I'm looking to replace my forced air heater in my ice castle. The fan noise drives me nuts when I just want to enjoy the nice quiet sounds of being on the ice.

So when I saw the wall mount Mr Buddy on sale at ff I jumped at it as I've been looking at that one or the Procom wall mount 10,000 BTU.

I've heard of Mr Heater issues but since I haven't had a problem with my small portable Mr Buddy I'd thought I'd try it.

My problem now is that it won't stay lit. The pilot lights nice and strong the first time. After a minute it turns off. And I can't get it relit as the pilot is much weaker then before. So I'm thinking its losing pressure as if its not drawing from the tank and dying out as the propane in the line is used up.

If I close the propane tank and wait a few minutes it lights up nice and strong as the first time the. It dies again. I have two 20 lb tanks and they both just got filled up for this ice season.

The 20 lb tanks I have used over two years with no problems. My burner stove in the ice castle lights nice and strong. So I'm wondering if any one has had similar problems and how to resolve it. I'm ready to just return it to ff and use my small buddy instead. I rarely sleep overnight in my ice castle thus my interest in foregoing the forced air heat, which also is the number one drain on my batteries.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I've never used one, but heard that can be a problem. I'm sure someone will give you a answer for it, as many have sent threads in and they are in ice fishing threads. I use a Procom and never had a problem. Only problem is condensation, and this is cured by opening a window a little for start up. After it gets warmed up, no problem.

So my inlet hose was probably leaking gas and it caught on fire. Resulting in my regulator looking like this. So I'm gonna order a new one online. Any ideas what that blue-green spot does? Looks melted. Picture is at an angle. UP is the lower left corner.

I would think any damage would be superficial? But gonna swap it out just in case.
