big boar coon

I was pulling my muskrats traps today as I will not be able to check them until monday. All of a sudden I hear some rustling in the cattails just in front of me. I see black and white and think " oh no a skunk". I yell get out of here! Then I realize its a coon, and it's stuck in a trap. I had forgot that I had set 2 1.5's on muskrat resting spot. Well needless to say, this monster of a boar coon gets caught. So I dispatch him, and look him over. Biggest, best looking coon I've seen, but he only had 3 inches of tail left. Not sure if it was from a coyote or himself, but it was fresh, and something had chewed his tail off. Anyone ever have this happen, or have any ideas of what happened?

Chew their foot off, or chew their leg off? In my time trapping, I caught a ton of raccoon and never had one chew it's leg off, but I did have em chew their toes off under the trap jaws. Lots of small bones in the foot...a very big, solid bone in the leg!
