will my buddy heater melt my sled?

I have a Fish Trap Scout and the heater does not melt the sled, however I'm not a fan of the heater in the tub. I tried it right away and it doesn't work the way you hope. It keeps your back warm, yet does little for all that cold air coming up from the ice where you are fishing.

Another thought regarding staying warm and comby in a portie. Place a rubber floor matt on the ice under your feet in front of your sled. I'm sure some of you already do this. It is amazing at how much difference it makes not having your feet directly on the ice. It also provides some traction when getting up and moving. First year I tried indoor outdoor carpet....not good it froze and was worthless on the next trip. rubber floor matts work great......
