TruthWalleyes
Yeah, well kind of...I use a few poles (think garden electric fencing posts) and secure them vertically to the canoe. Then i hang leaf-cut camo on the posts...Wa La. You've got your blind.
fishuhalik
I used chicken wire fence and weaved cattails into it. Make sure you alternate the height of the cattails and don't make it so dense that it looks unnatural, like a wall of cattails. All you need is enough to break up your profile. Cut down 4 small trees about 6-8' tall & secure the chicken wire to the trees with wire or zip ties. Stick the trees into the mud and secure your canoe to the trees, it really helps to stabalize the canoe. Only takes a couple hrs to make a blind that goes all the way around the canoe and it takes all of 2 minutes to set up.
bloc004
Do you have any pictures of this, i would be interested to see that. Do you have any issues with stability? You must just shoot sitting?
fishuhalik
No pics mb, haven't made one for years. No, it's perfectly stable. You tie the top of the chicken wire to the top of the trees, so you'll have about 4-5' of tree sticking out the bottom, which u drive into the mud. Then u secure the canoe to the trees. Stable as dry ground!Thinking back, the trees were about 10' tall. About 2' goes into the mud, water's usually 1'-2' deep, top of the canoe is another 1', and the chicken wire is about 4' tall. Make sure to put the thick part of the tree at the top and shaped the bottom or you'll have a heck of a time driving it into the mud!
