ducker
Do most of you check your water levels in your maintenance free batteries? If you do, how often?
BobT
If you have access to the cells then I would check them and add distilled water if needed. I don't know but it seems to me that "maintenance free" would suggest that the battery is sealed and you won't have access to the cells. delcecchi
I have seen an occasional maintenance free battery where if you looked closely there was a strip that you could pry off to add water. You aren't supposed to need to, but you could if you tried. Stands to reason, they had to have some way of getting the acid in, at some point in the process. Whoaru99
Some of the "maintenance free" batteries I've used you can open and check, others no. If it has caps you can remove without tearing off the label or ruining the case then it is no harm to do so. Tear off the label or hack up the case may cause warranty issue, if that ever arises. I actually collected on a battery warranty a couple months ago...got a 50% adjustment/prorate off the shelf price, not list price. As far as how often I check mine? When I think about it, or "every now and then".
harvey lee
If my batteries gave them, then yes, I try to check once every summer to add if needed.
