Me and some buddys are heading up to lake winnie at the end of Jan. We will probably be upt there 3 to 4 days. Anyone have any suggestions? we have portables and were thinking about finding a cabin at a resort instead of getting a perminent. Should we hire a guide for a day?

Also we like to go out to bars and what not when we are not fishing so any suggestions on that would be great also.

you are going up bout the right time

i;ve been up there early ice and not done as well

in my opinion the month of feb is the best

if you are going with portalbes find a hump on the north end where nobody has been and away from TRAFFIC thats very important

when you find a hump set up on the steepest part of it

spread out if there are 3-4 of you

you will catch fish..walleyes northens perch

nite life some say high banks is good so it probbly is ok i'm not found of the place myself never ate there...its one of a few places to get on the ice up there and they plow so its worth the 10 bucks but still try to get aways off the road if you can some yrs you cant

far and away the best place to eat and drink is the gosh dam place

great food and priced right
