JBMasterAngler
So when they first made the announcement about the 2nd wildcard team I didn't like it. Then as the season progressed and the playoff hunt really got heated up, I began to like the idea. Now, it's stupid again! Why on earth do the St. Louis Cardinals (who have the worst win % among playoff teams) have home field advantage over the Washington Nationals (who have the best record in MLB)? That makes absolutely no sense! The whole point of getting the best record and winning your division is to have home field advantage, and they don't even get that! Why can't Bud Selig do even the most simple things without screwing up?
foulpole18
The nationals come and play 2games in St.Louis and then the rest of the games are in Washington. So technically they still have a home field advantage.
JBMasterAngler
Hmmm, well, that's a little better. Still don't like it though. The better team should always play home first.
B. Amish
it was to cut down on travel and an extra off day. if you go 2-2-1, you're going back and forth between cities and need an extra off day.next year they are going back to the 2-2-1 format i believe.
