Stremme to Honor Natalie Krohn at Talladega: David Stremme will take to the track at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend in the Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500. In addition to having sponsorship from Swan Energy Inc., Stremme and the #30 team will be honoring Natalie Krohn, a young race fan from Minnesota whom recently lost her life. The #30 Inception Motorsports Toyota will feature a tribute to Natalie on the hood of the car, and Stremme plans to run the entire race in her honor. Natalie Krohn was born on August 6, 2003 in Worthington, Minn. to Jason and Jennifer Krohn. She attended West Elementary in Slayton and was currently in the third grade. Natalie passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton at the age of nine

This is an awesome thing. The racing community is great. For those of you who don't know, the Krohns are more than just fans of racing. Jason is a part time USMTS modified racer and a former national USMTS champiion. He raced locally for many years in Slayton, Worthington and Jackson winning countless races and track championships before a short stint in the old ASA and then going to the big mods. He's also a personal friend of mine who I've had the pleasure of knowing and watching race for years, from back when I was still racing and even a little before that. We aren't real close or anything, but know each other anyway. I do know him well enough that I can attest that he's a genuine good guy and a real racer's racer. I can also tell you this is an absolutely devastating loss for him, as it would be for any parent.

Some locals didn't like him when he was coming up because he won too much and had the money to have good equipment and they thought it was unfair. But what was obvious to those of us who really watched him, was he not only had good stuff, but the guy can flat out drive. The jealousy subsided over time when he moved on to bigger and better things and everybody started to see what a talented driver he is. He didn't win races and a championship on a national level by having better equipment!

I continue to send thoughts and prayers to his family and ask you do the same. I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose a child like that. So sad...

Jason is my friend and lives just a tad down the road from me. Lawdog's right, he won a lot and some locals didn't like that. Whateves. Get to know the man and you'll find out real quick like he's quality people.

What happened with his daughter sucks and the whole community feels it.

Pretty cool of Nascar and Stremme to show support.
