Studded track questions

I am looking at another sled (used). It is equipped w/ studs.

Can studs be removed from the track w/o damaging the track during removal or subsequent use?

I ride snowmobiles alot for trail rideing. If you remove the studs it won't damage the track. But if you ride alot without them in the track will become very weak, because when the holes for the studs are drilled they cut through the cords that are molded into the track.
