"the" food

somewhere in the importance of all hunting/fishing adventures is the food. It comes in all forms from my experience. Some of the best food eaten would never be ranked by an epicurean as something to behold, which is their loss. I have, too, been lured by foods that when not eaten in the context of the outdoors, seemed right. They were sometimes exotic, sometimes frankly high brow, and almost always enjoyed.

But...when put in the context of a perfectly fried Spam sandwich after a duck hunt or a Summer Sausage with grape jelly sandwich eaten at 9 am in a deer stand could never hold a candle to the aforementioned.

I can't help but think of location, location, location. The heralded line of all realtors, which could and probably does explain what this means.

So, this Fall when eating whatever may be the "perfect" meal. Look around...see your friends, or maybe your dog, or maybe relish the day's memories. The "spice" that makes the meal is those things that can never be tasted on your tongue, but only the memories in your brain that somehow bring the flavor of life to perfection.

i dont know how many times i have said everything tastes better in the outdoors. how could that be? same spices and the rest, however you nailed it with your post. it is the environment that surrounds you in the outdoors. your mind is sharper and the taste buds are active. good luck.
