Whoaru99
I think they all pretty much do the same thing these days, about as well as the other for practical purposes (within any given speed class). Mostly boils down to what you're going to do with the computer. If it's just for web surfing and checking email then you needn't spend too much. upnorth
Video editing, Cad/engineering software, intensive graphics really tax a processor, For the rest, pretty much any of the modern processors will work just fine. I lean towards intel, but that is mostly cuz they have been around the longest. AMD I had one at home and we bought a batch at work and they work just fine. Nick Kuhn
They all work well. If you are just doing web browsing and email, you probably can get by with an i3 or equivalent AMD. If you are doing gaming and occasional video editing, i5 will be the way to go. If you are a serious gamer or do tons of CAD and editing then you will want to step up to an i7. bigbad401
Because I build my computers and price is important to me, I go with AMD. I do video editing on my computers along with the normal word processing and internet stuff. AMD processors may not do the video editing as fast as the Intel I7, but they work just fine. If cost is important, do not hesitate going with an AMD processor.
