Fins-n-feathers
I asked a question about slugs awhile back and got some good answers, but I ended up using a rifle so I cant remember what they were. I can't find the thread - anybody have a link?
picksbigwagon
For smooth bore, modified choke and federal truball slugs is all my friends in Iowa use with their 20 ga smooth bores. I use hornady ssy's in my rifled slug barrel.
carpshooterdeluxe
cylinder, skeet, improved cylinder, rifled slug chokes, mod, try any of those with a hand full of different brands and see what kind of accuracy you get. I liked the brennekes in my old 20 gauge wing master, that had a fixed mod choke in it.
96trigger
I agree with carpshooter. Every gun shoots slugs a little different. Use either modified or cylinder choke. Its likely you may not have the others. I have heard nothing but good things about the federal trueballs and I shot the brennekes when I had smoothbore and really liked them. Figure out what your gun likes and go from there.
DRH1175
No choke to very little choke is best. So Cylinder or improved cylinder is what I use. If using a Foster, The slug expands to your barrel. So having a tight choke like Modified or full would actually effect accuracy. In my Rem 20 ga I like Remington Slugger and Fed Tru-ball. Take a few different brands to the range and see what your gun likes.
